Whether you want a busy time exploring or simply days of walks by the sea, reading and good food, Northumberland has it all. Lindisfarne and its history of saints and seafarers;  Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh all with magnificent castles, to mention a few. Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see seals and puffins, or visit the fishing villages dotted along the coast.  Even at night, Northumberland is one of the best places in the country for stargazing.

    Welcome to our holiday cottages

    Ross Farm itself is a working farm fringed with a Site of Special Scientific Interest and part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. It is home to many different birds and butterflies many of them rare and unique to this landscape. Whether it’s the Dark Green Fritillary or the Wall Brown Butterfly in July, skylarks rising as you walk across the Links in June or the geese in the winter moving in large flocks between feeding grounds, the precious ecosystem on the doorstep of the cottages is unique.

    The cottages are in the closest position you can get to one of the longest, finest and least crowded beaches in Northumberland; three miles of golden sand with Lindisfarne Castle at one end and Bamburgh Castle at the other.  Whether it’s winter walks next to the sea or sandcastles and shell collecting after a swim through the summer, the cottages all offer that comfortable base for you with friends and family.

    So leave your busy lives at the road end, breathe, unwind and relax in the comfort of your chosen cottage as you settle in for an unforgettable holiday.
